Name: Kerry Edwards
Committee Role: Secretary
Supporting statement: I have worked in Health and Safety for 25 years, from the lowest of the Levels, to becoming a full member and gaining Chartered Membership. My experience is varied from Trauma in the NHS, Occupational Health in Industry, Safety Engineering and then to my own organisation since 2005.

My main safety experience has been in vehicle manufacturing and design of vehicles based on medical research. Since yr2000 I became the first Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner to enter the world of Safety in a very unionised organisation. Since 2005, the company went into administration, but I was already prepared to start my own organisation.

I have been involved in the Midland South District and committee for several years and learned a great deal. I have been Secretary for the Midland South District and then taking us to Branch status. IOSH Networks Officers helped us greatly with this transition. I would like to continue the relationship between IOSH, Branch committee, its members and Networks department.

I have been active in presentations in the past, along with organising those requested by members. I want to encourage current members to learn and develop at their own pace, but at the same time network for potential members to IOSH when guests arrive to the meetings.

I believe with my experience I can contribute to the ongoing success in the South Midland Branch.
