Branch AGM nominees

The following nominees are eligible for election to the Branch committee.

Name: Richard Bate
Committee Role: Committee Member
Supporting statement: While not available to attend all meetings, my broad range of contacts within the events world is beneficial to NW Branch, specifically my ability to call upon speakers. I am committed to IOSH and believe that I should be contributing to the Institution as a branch member and through CPD mentoring. If elected, I look forward to serving NW Branch again in 2019.

Name: Gail Warrington
Committee Role: Committee Member
Supporting statement: I have been on the North Wales committee since September 2016 and really enjoy helping the team put together a programme of speakers for the year. I have worked specifically in health and safety since 2005 and before this date as a manager carrying out the practicalities of risk assessments, NOP/EAP, training staff etc. Since 2005 I have worked with schools, care homes, leisure centres, highways and municipal which has given me a broad base line and the confidence in the variations of the health and safety topics for each service. I am an enthusiastic person who enjoys sharing experiences and information with others and believe in the support that IOSH meetings give to others in this field of work.

Name: Richard Bladon
Committee Role: Vice Chair
Supporting statement: I was voted to the Vice Chair 12months ago and have enjoyed working closely with the Chair in improving the Member Experience through good financial control, good venues and excellent speakers. I would like to progress the Work2022 Branch Strategy and see it to fruition. The mentoring of members through IPD is a fulfilling challenge, which I enjoy doing as well as seeing our members obtain that IOSH Level. The journey has only just started and would thrive on the opportunity to continue this work in order to give me all the experience to raise to the Chair position next 12 months if elected

Name: Richard Bladon
Committee Role: Treasurer
Supporting statement: I would like to continue the role I was voted into at the 2018 AGM. Strong financial control is essential to ensuring a good quality programme to our Members as well as giving the Branch Executive up to knowledge of funding availability. During 2018/19 I have worked with the Branch Chair to ensure month on month financial statistics against the existing budget, but also in preparation for the substantial finance changes for the 2019/20 budget. I look forward to bringing the Draft Work 2022 Branch Strategy to fruition.

Name: Lawrence Bamber
Committee Role: Committee Member
Supporting statement: I would like to continue my role on the Branch Executive as well as the Branch link to IOSH Council.

Name: Melinda Lyons
Committee Role: Secretary
Supporting statement: I have been the Secretary for this Branch for 2 years now. I enjoy working with the rest of the Committee and feel we have done some great work that has made a difference and I would like to continue supporting this. I feel I learn a lot from being on the Committee and see it as a great opportunity. We have an exciting year ahead of us and it will be good to see how it progresses.
